Welcome to Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre.

Situated in Kew, 1 Yarra Boulevard to be precise, (Melways Map 45 1A) it is a service of Austin Health.

The Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre is a specialist provider of intensive rehabilitation programs, providing a comprehensive and co-ordinated range of medical, nursing, therapy and support services to people with a wide range of disabilities. Tucked away in a deep corner of Kew, Melbourne, this important organisation assists 1,000s of people a year to rebuild their lives after serious accidents or illness.

Established in 1907 as a colony for epileptics, Royal Talbot is now a leader in rehabilitation services.

We offer rehabilitation to people recovering from stroke, brain injury, amputation, spinal injury and orthopaedic injuries.

Our wards and therapy areas are staffed by dedicated and skilled staff.

There are places for patients to relax once the hard work of therapy is done.

Our Leisure and Learning Library staffed by volunteers is for use by patients, visitors and staff.

Our facilities suit the needs of our patients. A smaller, quiet therapy area is available for people with acquired brain injuries.

Art therapy helps people to work through difficult feelings and experiences and can strengthen communication skills

What is the Creative Therapies Service?

The Creative Therapies Service includes art therapy, music therapy and horticultural therapy programs. These therapies are vehicles for social change and enable patients to directly express feelings associated with their changed lifestyle, changes in role within their family and personal inner turmoil.
